If you’re buying a new electrical item, we will recycle your old one for free.
Why recycle?
Unwanted electrical equipment is the UK’s fastest growing type of waste. Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment. If you do not recycle, electrical equipment will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and human health.
We can help
We are pleased to offer our customers the chance to recycle their old electrical items when purchasing a new item from us. Please speak to a member of staff for details on how to dispose of your Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
The Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires EU Member States
to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of
WEEE. In the UK, distributors (including retailers) are required to provide a
system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the
opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge. As a responsible
retailer, we have met these requirements by offering all customers buying new
electrical and electronic equipment free take-back of their old electricals on
a like-for-like basis.
Please note that you are responsible to provide us with the WEEE waste item. This is by either in Person at our warehouse or by Post. Upon receiving the items they will be inspected and recycled accordingly.
In order to send us any WEEE waste, please go to the 'Product Returns' page at the bottom the website, fill in your personal and order details. Put in the product details (if ordering different items, please submit separate request), for the 'Reason for Return' please use the 'Other' and enter WEEE Waste Return. Once completed, please print out the returns form and include this in the package to us. We do accept WEEE waste even if you haven't purchased from us. Please contact is as to how we can help you.
We accept the following waste: Lighting Equipment, Sound Equipment, Light Bulbs (all types except Mercury bulbs) and any other electrical items that you can find on our website. We do accept batteries, however, we recommend recycling them locally such as Supermarkets.
